I have a dell dimension 2400 desktop running XP. I'm trying to install this PSC 1610 All-in-one printer. I down loaded the software driver. When I try to print the printer starts to run and sounds like it is printing, but the page comes out blank.
My previous printer is an HP Deskjet D4360. The connector to the printer is the same; I have no new cable; so I used the one from my 4360.
Please help Frank

You can check the ink levels by printing a self test page.
With paper loaded, press Setup until Print Report appears on the display, then press OK . Press OK again.
If that doesn't work, skip Step 1.
Let me know how the other steps work.

I was going through the steps on the link you gave me and I tried once more to check ink levels. I got the same message but I noticed the little hour glass so I waited, sure enough the message went away and showed the cartridges are empty. I replaced the black cartridge and voella it prints. Thank you!

Here's where you can get the software.
