Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.
Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you.
I understand that you are facing issues with your HP LaserJet 1020 Printer wherein it picks an extra paper along with the regular paper and the second paper gets jammed.
This issue could occur if the paper pick roller is dusty.
Let's go through a few steps to troubleshoot this issue.
And here's the step by step guide for you in the link: More Than One Page at a Time Feeds Through the Printer
Let me know how this works.
You have a good day ahead.

I had same problem for past one year .... renewed the Pick up roller .... nothing happened.... renewed cartridge.... nothing happened..... atlast opened up the printer .... understood the paper feeding mechanism.... and got the problem solved ....

Open the right side cover of hp laserjet 1020 plus printer ..... u'll find one small electro-magnetic latch at bottom right corner ..... this problem happens when the magnet didnot release the latch even though the solenoid de-energized .... may be due to sticky dust or due to residual magnetism..... clean the small assembly properly .... further put one thin insulation tape to reduce magnetic attraction.....
