Hello there,
I'm trying to print and I get an error message: "Jam in tray 2".
I've open the tray, even tray 1, but ther's no paper stuck inside the printer.
When I'm trying to print, it makes a sound of not able to collect the papers. I see there is a small black hook in tray 2, that I don't remember it was there before, so maybe it had a connection to the problem...
I'll be very gratful for your help!

That part is probably the paper out flag and it should raise when the tray in inserted and the paper lifts up. Two things to check. Make sure the backstop on the tray is set in the correct postion. If to far forward it prevents the paper from lifting all the way up and if to far back the pickup roller can not grasp the paper to pick it up. I do not know how long you have had the printer nor how many pages you have printed, but if you have printed a lot of pages, check the condition of the pickup roller inside the tray cavity in the center front.

Hi @roybe,
Does your printer boots to ready state when you power it on?
Does your printer prints from tray-1 ok?

Hi @roybe,
Apparently, there is no bit of paper left in the paper path of the printer. The jam occurs because the paper from tray-2 does not reach a particular sensor in a certain time. This means that the printer does not pick-up the paper from tray-2 and move it through the paper path. So I would suggest the following actions:
1) Make sure that the pick-up rollers from tray-2 are clean. Remove them and clean them with a damp piece of cloth. Install them back correctly.
2) Check if there is any damage on the shaft that the pick-up rollers are on.
3) Check if the solenoid for tray-2 is working ok: Administation -> Troubleshooting -> Diagnostics -> Component test -> Tray2 solenoid. If it is working you will hear a little sound like "click". If not then you need to replace that solenoid.
4) Further investigation needed. This involves servicing the printer. Removing a lot parts like right cover, DC controller and many more until you have a close look at the tray-2 pick-up assembly. Replace the pick-up assembly as a last effort.
I hope that helps.
Cheers!

Same problem. After the "jam" message comes up, I do NOTHING except press "OK" indicating I cleared the jam, and then it takes 30 seconds will print 1 or 2 pages... then the "jam" message again, i press "OK" again, it prints 1 or 2 pages, etc, etc,
So could something be wrong with the firmware?

I had the same problem. In my case one of the clips holding the front of the drawer was broken causing the paper level indicator arm to come out of alignment. When this happened and the tray was less than 3/4 full the tray couldn't push the paper up high enough to be caught by the pickup roller. I just remove this arm and the jam errors disappeared. I decided we can work without the level indicator rather than purchasing a replacement tray.
