LaserJet Pro MFP M479fdw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I paid around $500 for this printer about three months ago, and I am greatly disappointed. The printing is so slow; it is so aggravating. Copying a document has the same result, and printing a test document is also to a lesser extent.  Still, this is an unacceptable issue.

There was another thread on a sister model, but HP closed it without solving the problem.  Here is the link,

Suggestions anyone??

Check your paper settings on both the printer and computer to make sure the paper type in the tray is set to "Plain" as well as the correct paper size is selected. Anything else can slow down the print speed especially when copying.  Also, if you installed a PS (PostScript) printer driver on your computer, try installing a standard PCL driver instead as PS drivers can be very slow.

You could also try a power reset.

Perform a power reset:
First, make sure the printer is plugged straight into a wall outlet and not a power strip, surge protector or UPS.
With the printer plugged in and powered ON, disconnect the power cord from the printer. This will hopefully dissipate any electricity stored in the printer that could be hindering it.
Wait at least 30, preferably 60 seconds.
If there is a power switch, turn it to the OFF position.
Plug the power cable back into the printer.
Turn the printer ON with the power switch.
