I just want to point out that we had just upgraded the printer to the latest version of FeatureSmart 4 (2409058_053385 as of today.)
We then create a "Scan to Folder" (using FTP server) QuickSet and found out that it does not pick up papers from ADF using this function.
We had to revert back to the latest version of FeatureSmart 3 (2309021_581906) in order for the scanning to get its feed from ADF.
Opened a case with HP (Case Number 5039749291 ), the Tech took down the note, don't know if a fix will ever be in sight.

Please continue working with your HP case number. Report back your findings to us. It is always best to exhaust the warranty resources on your printer while they are active. The community can step in to fill in the gaps after that.

Even when the printer is out of warranty HP is willing to support Firmware related issues like this. They already accepted you by creating a case, otherwise they would have turned you away for being out of warranty.
Firmware issues need to be resolved by HP. Please continue working with HP for a solution. Share your discoveries with us when you are done. The information you learn may help others too.
