HP Elite Slice G2 with Microsoft Teams Rooms (5DP48AV)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello there,

I got my HP Elite Slice G2 working with MTS again (product 5JG15EA#ABD). All functions work fine besides switching the other screen on, connected with HDMI cable. The screen is just black. I tried different cables, monitors, connected it to a beamer - still the same. I have checked for new drivers with HP Support Assistant - all up to date. I did hardware and system diagnose

check - all good. Before installing a new Windows 10 with MTR I have updated BIOS with the newest version available

When the system is logged in to the Skype account and I turn on the other screen (connected over HDMI) nothing happens, it stays black. If I leave the screen on and restart PC it will display the Teams icon on the screen  as well and will work fine (until I turn the screen off and try to turn it on after a longer while). I also noticed when the screen is black and I switch to the Administrator account, the screen will display the desktop.

I tried to change power settings (highest performance power plan, PC never goes to a sleep mode, Intel Graphics Settings to maximum performance).

Today I uninstalled and installed again Intel graphic driver in Device manager and will validate changes tomorrow.

It is just annoying that Slice has to be reset each time someone wants to use the bigger screen as it won't display anything.

Hello @Tomasz_K ,

welcome to the HP Poly community.

If this is a HP MTRoW then the official HP Process to re-image the system to be recovered must be used. You cannot just install a standard Windows 10 or 11 build.

I suggest you contact our Support organization in your region. Details are in my Signature.

Best Regards

Hi Steffen and thank you for your reply,

I haven't just installed standard Windows 10 and later MS Teams. I embedded MSTR into a Windows 10 ISO file using Microsoft script (CreateSrsMedia.ps1) creating a bootable image on a USB drive. System worked fine for a few weeks and then suddenly the issue started to occure.

Hello @Tomasz_K

to my knowledge, this is not a supported scenario. Only the official HP MTRoW process to recover a unit installs all the relevant drivers. Anything else will lead to trouble as you found.

Please work with our support organization on this.

Best regards

Hi Steffen,

Before using the script I contacted HP Support in Poland and followed directions to use HP Cloud Recovery in order to prepare a bootable USB drive. It turned out that the image on the drive was a raw Windows 10, not a proper MTR, just a plain system.
