I tested the latest software release for the RPG 300, and liked it a lot aside from the fact that you cannot control TV volume with the Polycom remote.  Is there any chance of this being a feature in the future?  At this point, it simply controls Polycom volume.

Thanks,

You should not be adjusting the TV volume the recommended setting of the TV volume:

Set the HDX volume at about 50% (middle of the onscreen indicator) using the Codec remote.

Now set the TV volume to a suitable loudness (should be about 60% up).

Make all the adjustments from the codec remote and adjust the codec volume, not the TV volume.

This optumizes the echo cancellers.

Also another idea is to make sure the TV (display) that you are using is not doing any audio processing.  Most of them do today and it can result in lip sync issues.  Suggested:

  1. Turning off all “sound enhancement” features in the HDTV sound menu.
  2. If there is a “Game Mode” feature in the HDTV menu, turn this Doing so will dramatically reduce the audio delay in the HDTV, making life easier for  the echo canceller.
  3. The best audio experience will occur with powered loudspeakers.
