We have recently setup a RealPresence Group 500 with a SoundStation IP 7000 phone integrated for use as a normal VoIP phone as well as the microphone for the RealPresence Group 500.  During testing about a minute or two into a video call the indicator lights on the IP 7000 would turn off, basically like it was no longer linked up.  At this point audio would begin coming out of the IP 7000 as well as the speakers connected to the RealPresense Group 500 causing a lot of echo and feedback.

We thought we had solved the issue with a shield cat5 cable connecting the RP 500 and IP 7000 through the breakout connectors (the issue only occured when using a regular cat5 cable).  Unfortunately the problem has come back.  I've got a case open with Polycom support but wanted to reach out here and see if anyone else had experienced similar issues.

Hello f1_jmullins,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

What Software Version has the SSIP7000 installed?

The GS500 4.0.1 Release Notes state:

Polycom SoundStation IP 7000 phone software version 4.0.3F and BootRom 5.0.1

Follow up => here <= on how to determine the SW Version.
