I found a bug in the HDX 8000 software at least in version 3.0.3.1-19040 and also I have tried on 3.0.4 as well.

The integration manual lists the pip command with the parameters <get|on|off|camera|swap|register|unregister|location>

Specifically dealing with ON, OFF, and Camera as those should be changing the pip setting in the monitors menu.

However when sending those commands the only one that works is camera.  The HDX responds back with the echo and the acknoledgement that it processed the commands but on and off never really work.

For instance in the monitors menu pip is set to ON.

If I use my amx or crestron controller to send the command 'pip off'<CR>  the HDX responds back 'pip off',<LF><CR>(the echo) then pip off <CR><LF>(the acknowledgement)  However the monitor menu still shows pip on and doing a 'pip get' returns 'pip is on'<CR><LF>.

If I use the remote to change the pip to OFF and do a pip get it says pip is off.  Then if I send the command 'pip on'<CR> I get the echo and acknowledgement saying pip on.  But if I look in the menu it says pip is off and if I do a pip get it says 'pip is off'.

Lastly.  If the menus says ON or OFF and send the command 'pip camera'<CR>  I get the echo and acknowledgement saying pip camera.  Then when I look at the menu it is infact now set to camera and when I do a 'pip get'<CR> it does in fact respond 'pip is camera'.

I've tried taking out the control system and just used the serial port on my laptop and software to send strings to the HDX and I see the same results so there is not an error in the pip on or pip off commands I'm sending.  The syntax is correct.  The HDX is just not really doing anythning other than echo and acknowledgement except when doing pip camera.

Anyway to get a software update that makes the "pip on" and "pip off" commands work properly?

Thanks,

Mel

Hello Mel,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

I can only advise you to log this via your Polycom Reseller. I had a quick look internally and there are some references to Telnet Commands not being mirrored on the HDX Gui.

The correct way to identify if your issue is similar or related is raising a Polycom Service Ticket and providing the support package when recreating the issue.

Best Regards
