poly studio X70

Hi All

Anyone experiencing similar issues with poly studio X70/X50? We cant turn on the camera for "Local presentation" with the PC no matter what.

In our meeting room we got a large monitor , PC and poly studio X50, connected to Poly Touch Control (tc8 p020 )

When we use Poly ouch Control and room mode "Zoom mode" to have meetings we can use poly studio X70 or X50 camera with no issues at all. Camera works great with "Zoom mode".

But when we use room mode "Local presentation" with the PC it can't open the camera. (At lease privacy cover is not opening).  Also cannot use camera with any windows apps like teams or skype. Even when we try to open windows default camera app, it gives the following screen.

Yet camera is definitely detected under Windows Device manager in this manner

Ps: what we have done so far,

(1) restarting the Local Pc multiple times

(2) exiting all the apps that can capture camera/Webcam

(3) Power cycling poly studio X50, and Poly TC8 Touch Control  multiple times.

(4) updating windows with latest updates (no more updates available)

Yet no Luck poly studio X50 and X70 stays the same, in room mode "Local presentation" with the PC in this screen when we open camera app.

If anyone can shed some light on this that would much appreciated. 🙏🙏🙏Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the HP community.

Unfortunately, your post does not contain the currently used Software version for the HP Poly product or the Partner application version you use.

This is important, especially in the future, when someone finds this post in days, months, or years.

Please do not simply edit the original post but reply with the versions.

In the FAQ or the Read 1st section, we remind users why this is important.

If no other volunteers reply, I suggest you contact our Support organization in your region. Details are in my Signature.

Hi @SteffenBaierUK

Not sure how this is going to help, yet since you insist here you go

The issue was that we overlooked it, and genius who took the design decision to hide the 'BYOD' option in a completely different location made it harder to find. For better clarity, it would be helpful if all three modes—Local Presentation mode, BYOD mode, and Zoom mode—were in one place. At least it would be "Idiot" friendly 🙂

Hello @AraC23 ,

the straightforward question >here< was what is the PolyOS version and the Partner Application Version which should be simple to answer and part of any post.

So far we still do not know the PolyOS version is and the Zoom version you use is 6.1.0(2857) which is multiple versions behind the latest 6.2.5 (3142).

Volunteers may not reply to future questions and posts become unanswered without providing such details. Posting a photo will not work for the community search either.

The UI you are using is designed by our Partner Zoom so any suggestions should be provided to them.

Best Regards
