@GOAgency wrote:Thanks for your answer erico,
I have the PM45 chipset on my 518432-001.
I already read the "HP dv6 Maintenence & service Guide" but this guide is for all the dv6 serie and there are several different mainboards.
I wanted to be sure that T9600 or T9800 fit with the 518432-001. According to this guide, it's OK, isn't it ?
Olivier.
Hi Oliver,
According to the guide both are compatible.
The reason I asked you about the chipset to be certain.

If the CPU isn't listed then BIOS support does not exist. The list was compiled by HP and HP chose what should be there and modified the BIOS to add support for all in the list.

Would you rephrase that? I don't understand what you mean by "i am worried not to be seen of it".
There do not appear to be any CPU upgrades for our notebook available. I am unable to find any information on optional CPUs.

The famous BIOS whitelist, isn't it erico ?
The E8335 is a bit cheaper than the T9800 and he has the same perfs with a 25W TDP !
Some people say that it will recognised like a T9800...
I don't know what to do...

I received my E8335 and I installed it on my DV6.
My BIOS recognizes it, everything works properly.
But I have just a cooling problem, the E8335 gets very hot, about 100°C !
I think the thermal paste I used is of poor quality, It is a cheap paste that I bought on ebay : HY610 Gold Thermal Grease...
I will buy some Artic Cooling MX-2, it should be better...
Has anyone ever had this kind of problem ?
