Hello,
I am trying to print a pdf document from my iphone 14. I am trying to make it double sided, but it says double sided is “off”. I don’t understand why. I am able to use airprint and print double sided, but can’t do so when I am using the hp smart/hp + app.
Thanks for your help!

Hi @Izzybreezy,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If two-sided (duplex) printing is disabled when using the HP Smart app with your HP Officejet 8015 printer, there are a few steps you can take to resolve the issue.
Check Printer Settings:
- Ensure that your printer is set up correctly for duplex printing. This may involve checking the printer's physical settings or going through its menu options to enable duplex printing.
Paper Type and Size:
- Make sure that the paper loaded in the printer's paper tray is compatible with duplex printing. Some printers may not support duplex printing on all paper types or sizes.
Driver and Firmware Update:
- Check if there are any driver or firmware updates available for your HP Officejet 8015 printer. Outdated software can sometimes cause printing issues.
HP Smart App Settings:
- In the HP Smart app, open the print settings for your document. Look for an option related to duplex or two-sided printing. Ensure that it is set to "Automatic" or "Two-Sided Printing" depending on the app's terminology.
Document Settings:
- Some applications, like Microsoft Word or Adobe Acrobat, also have duplex settings. Check the settings within the application you're printing from to ensure it's not overriding the printer settings.
Reinstall HP Smart App:
- If none of the above steps work, you may want to uninstall and reinstall the HP Smart app. Sometimes, software glitches can cause issues like this.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
