Hopefully someone can Help me.

I have been unable to wirelessly connect my computers to my wireless 8600 printer.  I have been working on this for the better part of 2 days and have utilized almost all of the standard "Wizards" and the automated HP online "Chat"

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.  Below are some of the results and Error Messages I have already attempted.

I have powered on /off all the devices (router, Printer, Computers) Many Times, and have attempted to re-established the network connection by "Restoring the Printers' Network Defaults" and still the 8600 has not been recognized by the other computers seeking to print.

All of the computers on the network don't "See" / "Recognize" the HP 8600 as being on the network...

BUT the 8600's Network Indicator ICON shows it being connected

As do:

The Wireless Network Test Results:

--Wireless On  PASS

-Wireless Working PASS

-Signal VERY GOOD

HP Network Configuration Page:

-Network Status  READY

-Active Connection Type  WIRELESS

-------URL(s) embeded for webserver   "http://error"  ???

Is there any way to "PING" the Printer to ensure it really is on the Network via outside credible source.

The following error messages have been recieved:

When trying to connect wirelessly, the printer appears Connected to the network yet ALL 3 of computers attempting to print (MacBook Pro, IMAC, HP Pavillion 23) don't "See" it or list it as an option..

When attempting to add the printer via the IP Address,

The IP address can be added as an "Unrecognized Generic Printer"  but we are still unable to print because it shows the printer as "Off Line" or "Idle"

Also,

After directly connecting the printer to the MacBook pro via cable (USB) in attempt to use the HP Utility tool to connect to the wireless network...

The Following message was recieved on the MacBook Pro

"The Network Settings were successfully downloaded to your network device, However your Mac was unable to locate the device on the network"

Please make sure your Mac is connected ... and the Device is Connected to the Network ***

Additional Information

--I have not been able to turn on Web Services (Eprint and Apps)

--I have been able to print via "Wireless Direct" but because we have multiple users, this is not a very desirable option .

Thank you again for your help  as this has become extremely frustrating.

A warm welcome to HP Community!

Do you have 2.4GHz or 5GHz network enabled on your WiFi router?

What's the make and model of your WiFi router?

Could you perform a ping test using the Mac Network Utility and let me know the results. Use the printer IP address to perform a ping test, the printer IP can be located by selecting the wireless icon on the printer display.

The wireless status menu on your Mac should also give us quite a lot of information that would help us identify the issue. You can access the menu by pressing the Option key and then clicking the    Wireless icon on your Mac, if possible post a screen shot of the wireless status menu.

When I attempted to create the wireless status menu,  the option that looked the most helpful was the create wireless diagnostic report

IS there a particular document you would like to see?  The report is fairly lengthy.  I've attempted to attach screen shots of the files Screen Shot 2019-04-11 at 5.30.52 PM.pngScreen Shot 2019-04-11 at 5.31.19 PM.png

Also,

In response to one of your other questions:

I am told that I have both a 2.4 GHz and a 5GHz network enabled router.  The Wifi name and password use "Band Steering to connect each device to the appropriate 2.4 or 5G radio"

I don't have the Make and Model of the router yet, but have service via Att and thought it was supposed to be either fiber or really fast.  Potentially via UVerse system?

It looks like there is 100% packet loss during ping test and the printer specifications available here indicates that HP Officejet Pro 8600 printer supports only 2.4 GHz network. Let's reset the printer network settings and then re-connect it to 2.4GHz network and check if the printer is able to communicate with the other devices. Here is how to do it:

1.) Access router GUI(Graphical user interface) and change the SSID(Network name) of 2.4GHz network. The SSID for 2.4GHz and 5GHz should be different. Instruction on how to change the SSID can be found on router user guide.

2.) Unplug your modem/router and leave it powered off.

3.) Restart your printer, from the printer control panel, touch (right arrow), touch Setup, and then touch Network. Touch Restore Network Defaults, and then select Yes.

4.) Power off your printer

5.) Reconnect your modem/router and wait for it to re-establish its internet connection.

6.) Power on your printer.

7.) On the printer control panel, touch (right arrow), touch Setup, and then touch Network.

8.) Touch Wireless, touch Wireless Setup Wizard, touch the name of your 2.4GHz network, and then follow the instructions to connect the printer to your home WiFi.

Let me know how it goes!
