Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I purchased a used HP Envy 5530 from the Facebook Marketplace. When I try to add it, to my Instant Ink account, it says that it is already claimed. How can I fix this issue? Thanks, in advance.

@Vandy27,

Thanks for engaging in HP support Forums! This is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips! I understand you are having issues setting up HP Instant Ink account. Don't worry I'll be really glad to help you.

As you have mentioned in your post that you have purchased a used printer, hence I would suggest  you can resolve this issue by removing and enabling Web services.

This will release the printer from the old HP Connected account allowing you to add it to your new HP Connected account.

We need to remove the printer from the other HP Connected account. To do this please follow these steps:
1. Press the ePrint button (Web Services menu) on the bottom left-hand corner of the printer's front panel menu. Here, you can check to see what the ePrint email address is.
2. Go to 'Settings' or select 'Remove Web services'.
3. Once complete, enable 'Web services'.
4. The information page will print with the new claim code (everything prior to @hpeprint.com).

If you experience issues, see this guide:
Please try the steps within this guide: HP Connected - Getting the Printer Claim Code

Once you have claimed the printer on your HP Connected account you can start the enrollment process.
See the guide: HP Printers - Enrolling in HP Instant Ink

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!

Eagerly waiting for your response!

I hope you have a good day ahead,

And Feel free to ask your queries as this forum has some of the best people in the world available and ready to help.

It is not creating a claim code. I don't know what to do. It says that the registration is in progress, but no what to do next.

@Vandy27,

Thank you for replying,

As I understand you tried to follow the steps suggested and unfortunately this has not helped to get the claim code.

In this scenario, I would suggest here is to do a advance reset on the printer.

I am sending you a private message with the steps to reset the printer. Please check the mailbox icon at the top-right corner of this screen.

Please check your Private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Forums profile,

As soon as I touch the BL it disappears and doesn't allow me to do the other 3 times. This is still frustrating me. I just want to use my printer and add it to my Instant Ink Account. Who knew this would be the hardest thing I do, this week?

I cannot get the Web Services to work, on my HP Envy 5530. I have tried all you suggested, but there is no code (that looks like an e-mail) and the e-print will not work.  My printer is on the network, and I can print to it, but without this other information, I cannot link it to my Instant Ink Account, which was the point of getting this paricular printer. Thanks.
