HP ENVY 5530 e-All-in-One Printer
Other

We recently moved to another state.  When we tried to set up our printer, it connected like usual, but it will not print.  It seems like it is connected, but when you go to print it tells you there is no printer.  Will I have to uninstall and reinstall in order for it to work? I’m not sure how to go about doing that?

We only have Apple products that are mobile.  A MacBook, an iPad and iPhone.

Hi @ThaHoo,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I understand you are facing a connectivity issue with your HP ENVY 5530 E-All-In-One Printer. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

To assist you better:

  • I  would like to know if the blue light on the printer is solid?
  • How far is the printer from your Wi-Fi router?
  •  Is your router dual-band enabled i.e., both 2.4GHz and 5GHz? If yes, make sure the dual-band has different SSIDs for 2.4G and 5G networks

While you respond to that, we can try to restore the network back to defaults and connect the printer back on to your network:

Restore Wi-Fi setup mode on the printer:

Use the touchscreen to restore Wi-Fi setup mode.

  • On the printer control panel, touch the Setup icon or Wireless icon .
  • Select Network setup or Settings, and then select Restore Network Settings.
  • NOTE: Your control panel might look different than the following example, but the steps are the same.

Example of selecting Restore Network Settings on a touchscreen control panel

  • If a confirmation prompt displays, touch Yes.
  • Wait 60 seconds until the Wireless light blinks blue.
  • Within two hours, return to the app or software to find and add your printer and complete the setup.
  • After the default network settings are restored, touch the back arrow, touch Wireless Settings, and then touch Wireless Setup Wizard.
  • The printer searches for available networks.
  • Touch the name of your wireless network.
  • Type your network security password (WEP or WPA key), and then touch and the printer will connect to your home Wi-Fi.
  • The blue light will become solid.

Once the printer is connected to your new Wi-Fi router, you may try to print using Airprint.

How to print from Macbook using Airprint:

Add the printer using Apple AirPrint drivers.

1.) Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.

2.) Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, If your printer is listed, click the printer name, click the minus sign to delete the printer.

3.) If you see multiple printer queues for the same printer, remove all extra printers by selecting them one at a time, and then clicking the minus button at the bottom of the list.

4.) Click the plus sign click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name.

5.) Click the Use or Print Using menu, select AirPrint in the pop-up menu. Then click Add.

Select AirPrint from the Use menu

6.) Try to print.

How to print from iOS using Airprint:

  1. Open the app that you want to print from.
  2. To find the print option, tap the app’s share icon — reply icon or share icon — or tap share iconS
  3. croll down and tap pinter icon or Print. If you can’t find the print option, check the app’s User Guide or Help section. Not all apps support AirPrint.
  4. Tap Select Printer and choose an AirPrint-enabled printer
  5. Choose the number of copies or other options, like which pages you want to print.
  6. Tap Print in the upper-right corner

.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
