HP ENVY Photo 7855 All-in-One Printer
iOS

I am no longer able to print from my iPhone 12 Pro to my HP printer after I updated my Phone to iOS 18. Previously I was able to print just fine. I have updated drivers on my printer and checked Wi Fi connection. I get a message on my phone "contacting printer" and then connection failed. Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi @jjpengr,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

We understand you're no longer able to print from your iPhone 12 Pro to your HP ENVY Photo 7855 All-in-One Printer following the update to iOS 18. We appreciate you checking the Wi-Fi connection and updating your printer’s firmware.

This issue may be related to compatibility changes introduced in iOS 18 or network communication between your iPhone and the printer. Please try the steps below to resolve the issue:

Step 1: Confirm Network Connection

  • Ensure both your iPhone and printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  • On the printer's display panel, navigate to:
    • Settings > Network Setup > Wireless Summary to confirm it's connected.

Step 2: Power Cycle Devices

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug your Wi-Fi router for 30 seconds.
  2. Restart your iPhone.
  3. Plug the router back in, wait for a full internet connection, then turn the printer back on.

Step 3: Reset AirPrint Settings (On iPhone)

  • Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
(Note: This will remove saved Wi-Fi networks and passwords—reconnect to Wi-Fi after.)

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Thank you Vikram. Completing steps 1 and 2 corrected my problem. I can now print normally from my iPhone.
