Welcome to the HP English Community --

 

There is much less chance of a printer mechanical malfunction than there would be other reasons for this type of failure.

 

That said, yes -- it is possible.  Any chance above zero means it can happen.

 

We cannot diagnose personal networks, of course - anyone who says they can might have been given access to your computer, printer, mobile device, or network -- doing so is dangerous, do not do that.

 

We can provide the information you need to recheck what is happening --

 

Perhaps before you do anything else,

  • Restart everything

and

  • Make sure both printer and device are running on the same network.

For example, if you are running your iOS device on your data network, that is not the same network where the printer is connected.

  • Make sure your device has both Bluetooth and Location services switched on.
  • Have the device you are connecting near (not on top of) the printer.
