Hi , I have just installed HP ENVY 5020 using HP SMART app . All connected easily / aligned etc, etc . However whilst the printer is showing up as a network on all iPads/ iPhones in the house it asked for a password when I go into the network on the mobile device .  I have  searched forums and have tried to enter the WPA password for the  router but this is incorrect . Have read about wireless direct but don't think it applies to this printer and would not want this anyway . I am simply looking for what I had with previous  printers  - ie access to printer from any device in the house without need for password . Help much appreciated as the " virtual chat " was as useful as a chocolate teapot .

Thanks in advance

@kevyb
Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

Step 1: Try the default password - 12345678.
If the default password does not work, please print a Network Configuration page and look for a Wi-Fi or a Wireless Direct password.

Step 2:  To print a Network Configuration page - From the printer control panel, press the Wireless button and the Information button together to print the network configuration page.

  • Please send us a picture of the screen asking you to enter the password.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
