HP Instant Ink was cancelled on 15 Feb 2018. Since then, I have not been able to use my printer. Even though I have replaced the instant ink cartridges with new, original HP ink cartridges. There is a flashing white light in the web services area, which turns to an orange flashing light when I try to print. Nothing prints. I tried to re-set the printer, but the flashing lights will come back, and I am still unable to print. Essentially, this printer was fine until I started using the instant ink! Since then it prints with missing letters and smudges. I did all the maintenance and used the cartridges provided by this service. I am very disappointed with this HP Deskjet 3720 printer! I have to go elsewhere to print documents and applications! Bottom line: I cannot print anything since I cancelled the instant Ink on 15 Feb 2018!

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂
I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.
As I understand, you're getting a blinking light on your printer and it would not allow you to print.
No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:
What happens when you give a print command?
Are you getting any error messages while trying to print?
Are you able to make a photocopy?
How is the copy quality?
You could refer to this document and try troubleshooting: Blinking Lights.
For the print quality issue, you could refer to this article: Click here
Let me know how this goes,
Have a great day 🙂
Cheers!

Hello. Okay, so I did a hard re-set to try and resolve this issue. Now I get flashing wifi; flashing web service; steady light on wifi Direct Button Light. Again, this was not a problem until the day I stopped the Instant Ink program. I replaced the cartridges; did a hard re-set. Still does not work even when I use a USB printer cable. Nothing. All I get is "in queue. " And a print error comes up on screen. Very dissappointed with this printer and the HP Instant Ink service which I belive to be the issue! I use to be an IT tech, fixiing printers and PCs! But this printer has definitely got one over on me! Can you help...before I go out an purchase a Canon Printer! Regards.

Thank you for replying with this detailed response 😉
I appreciate your time and efforts,
Wi-Fi light is flashing because your printer is not connected to Wi-Fi, instead, it is connected using Wi-Fi Direct. Let's try these steps to resolve the issue:
Root uninstall and reinstalling printer drivers:
- Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP DeskJet printer entries and uninstall them.
- Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
- Then press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" and press enter.
- Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
- Again, go to run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
To reinstall, click here.
Restore Network Default:
● Press the Wireless button and the Cancel button from the printer control panel at the same time, and then hold them for three seconds.
Once completed, follow steps from the document to connect your printer to Wi-Fi.
Keep me posted,
Cheers!

I did all this but the driver wouldnt uninstall, a message saying it was in use so cant delete came up. I carried on with the rest of the instructions still but still get the flashing webservice amber light. It stopped printing half way through a few photos. I contacted HP through chat and let them take over computer, after half an hour it was established as a cartridge error, they sent new ones and they are showing full levels but still says cartridge error for colour and black, and of course an amber flashing light and no printing. When Ive only printed a few sheets a month on average I think this is a very poor show, it is also the 2nd printer I've had as the 1st one became faulty and was replaced with this one under warrenty. It's very frustrated as pressing the icon buttons to get information sheets will print so it's working but not when I want to print.
