Example: HP Envey 6200 All In One printer

I accidentally hit the Bluetooth Smart On selection on my printer.  It seems to be scanning or attempting to find something and has been doing this for over an hour.  I  am not able to return to the home screen or go back.  The screen just has the phrase Bluetooth Smart is turning on.....

I would like to stop this as I am not even sure what this setting does

Hi @mlove1

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you

Due to the current global COVID-19 situation, we're seeing an influx of customers coming in for support. We appreciate your patience.

Bluetooth Smart, also called Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), is a feature on some HP printers for enabling faster, more reliable printer setups. The HP Smart app for AndroidApple iOSWindows 10, and macOS uses Bluetooth Smart to discover the printer during the setup process.

Bluetooth Smart does not enable Bluetooth printing. Traditional Bluetooth device pairing is a different technology. Go to Bluetooth Guide for HP Printers for more information on Bluetooth printing and a list of compatible printers.

Let's try a power reset on the printer

Reset the product

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
