Hi,
Please help me with the method to achieve "both sided printing on HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 3835 All-in-One Printer from Android".
I have tried all the HP Printing related apps/ plugins avaiable on PlayStore, but the drop down for 'Two-sided' remains disabled for me. I mean it displays 'None' and I have no option to update it.
Please help.
Thanks

Thanks for posting in the community. I read this post about assistance with two-sided printing from your Android device. I will assist you and let’s get right to it. The diagnosis of the issue was perfect and appreciated greatly.
Let me gather some information for better clarity to assist you correctly?
- Did you install and check HP SmartApp settings?
- Did you check the printer’s product specs to see if it supports automatic duplex printing?
For a start let’s try these steps:
- Please perform a hard reset on the printer from this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-deskjet-ink-advantage-3830-all-in-one-printer-series/7172328... and follow instructions from the section “Step 1: Reset the printer”
- Product specs of the printer: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-deskjet-ink-advantage-3830-all-in-one-printer-series/7172328... (Printer Specifications for HP OfficeJet 3830, DeskJet 3830, 5730 All-in-One Printers)
- User guide link: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04725324 refer to page 135 for the specifications of the printer.
- By the look of it, this printer does not support double-sided or duplex printing automatically. You may need to perform two-sided printing manually by flipping the page manually in the tray after the fort side is printed.
- This will then print on the back. This is because the printer does not support auto-duplex printing.
Download and install HP SmartApp from this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-deskjet-ink-advantage-3830-all-in-one-printer-series/7172328... (HP Printers - Using the HP Smart App (Android, Apple iOS)
Then check the app settings for duplex printing. Otherwise, it needs to be done manually and I am being honest here keeping your best interest in mind.
Good luck and keep me posted about the developments. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue and give the post a Kudos for my efforts to help
Thank you and have a great day ahead. 🙂
