I just tried to set up my new HP Envy 5014 printer. It says it is connected to my local network, but when I try to connect to it on my computer it says the printer is offline and to ensure it is powered on and connected to the same network.

I also tried connecting to it using the phone app and it doesn't find the printer.

I also tried finding it with bluetooth but no dice there either. I'm about ready to return it and buy a different brand. Modern printers should set up in minutes but I have been trying for about 3 hours now with no luck.

Please help!

I have also tried setting it up with a USB cable and it insists that I have not connected the cable. However, when I connected it the computer said a device was detected and began trying to install it.

Is there something wrong with my printer? Do I simply need to exchange it?

I had the same trouble. I have windows 10 . I had to put the printer in my HP smart app.  Everything setup fast after that.

My app doesn’t even find my printer so I can’t do that either. I’ve decided to return  it.
