Switched to a Netgear wireless router and can no longer print from iPads using my HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 printer unless I use Netgear Genie on my desktop. Print requests results in "No AirPrint Printer found". There was no issue prior to changing to Netgear. Can OfficeJet Pro 8600 be made AirPrint compatable?

I understand you have issues printing on your iPad and you get an error no AirPrint printer found.
Don't worry I'd like to help you out.
Did you make any changes to your printer?
What is the IOS version you are using iPad?
As you mentioned you have issues printing on your iPad and you get an error no AirPrint printer found.
Please, try the steps recommended below.
Go to settings on your iPad. Select wifi. Press the blue arrow next to the network name in the list your printer is currently on. When the network settings page comes up, make sure the http proxy setting is set to auto.
Also, try the steps recommended to solve AirPrint issues on your printer.
Move the router closer to the printer but no closer than 6 feet (1.8 meters) from the router. And verify that other everyday household items like microwaves, baby monitors, and cordless phones are not nearby. These often interfere with your wireless signal
Make sure that the AirPrint-enabled printer connects to the same Wi-Fi network as the iOS device. Note that Wi-Fi printers may take several minutes to join a Wi-Fi network
Cellular Networks do not currently support AirPrint
Make sure Airplane mode is OFF
Make sure that your iDevice is running the latest version of iOS and your printer has the most recent firmware version installed.
Check that your printer has not turned off wireless
If it is turned OFF, press the wireless button on the printer to get it running again.
Try switching your iPhone or other iDevice WiFi bandwidth setting from 2.4 Ghz to 5 Ghz or vise-verse (from 5 Ghz to 2.4 Ghz)
If you are unsure how to check this setting, contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP)
Turn your iDevice off and back on again. Turn your printer off and back on again
Switch off BOTH your router AND your modem, wait 30 seconds and turn back ON
Turn off Bluetooth and try printing
Make sure that AirPrint is enabled in your printer settings. Check your printer’s manual for this
If you have any computers connected by ethernet to your network via a router/modem, shut those computers down. With that computer(s) off, try AirPrint again
Change the Internet Printing Protocols (IPP) setting from Off to On to make the printer findable via AirPrint
The IPP (Internet Printing Protocol) is usually found under the printer’s Advanced Settings sub-menu

I have been successfully using my HP Officejet Pro with the latest version of iOS on iPad Mini 4, iPad Pro 9.7 and an iPhone 5S for more than a year.
Now since December 2017 when I use the “share” option in iOS to Print, I see an A4 page with the top left hand corner showing the page to be printed at a size of approximately 6.5cm by 5.0cm. When I print from a computer using Mac OS High Sierra or any of the Mac OS versions I have been using since I purchased the hp Officejet pro 8600, printing is still successful.
For the last several years this print request was carried out perfectly and made using an iOS device very productive - no need to go to a desk to print from a computer. The user interface was very simple, no need to power on/off modems, routers, HP printer, or iOS device or turn off and then on again the printer’s ipv6 or even check the house wifi being used to access the router was the same for the printer and for the iOS device.
I have Brother printers for black and white and they work fine with print request from iOS.
We all live busy lives! We do not have the time to run through all the checks and settings mentioned in this response from “MrRobot” from HP.
In the absence of a statement from HP that there is indeed a problem and it is being worked on with priority I will start looking for other options for colour printing from IOS. I have seen complaints about this problem on various web sites with dates going back many months
Please admit there is a problem and it is to be fixed ASAP!
