Envy 5032
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Setting this up from new today - all connected fine to my wireless network, I can print from my PC, great. But I can't connect the printer to the internet to connect to Web Services, which I need to be able to sign up for Instant Ink.

Error message says "connection to server unsuccessful".

I have restarted and tested the router & internet connection, all are working. I have no firewalls active. What is my next step please?

@Thinpaddy,

Thanks for engaging in HP support Forums! This is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips!

I understand you are having trouble while accessing the web services on your HP Envy Printer. Updating the printer firmware and then assigning a manual DNS address normally get this issue fixed. Follow the steps below:

  • Obtain the IP address of the printer – You can touch the “wireless” icon on the printer control panel to obtain the IP address.
  • Type the IP address on your web browser to obtain the printer EWS page on your computer.
  • Go to the “Network” tab – Click on “Wireless (802.11) – Then click on “Network address (IPv4)
  • Click on the radio button which says “Manual IP” and then click “Suggest a manual IP address” to give a manual IP address to your printer.
  • Click on radio button which says “Manual DNS Server” and under manual preferred type 8.8.8.8 and under manual alternate type 8.8.4.4 (This is Google DNS server address)
  • Now try accessing the web services and check.

If the issue persists, I would suggest you follow all the steps suggested in the support document for - HP Printers - Cannot Connect to Web Services

I hope this should do the trick. Let me know how it goes for further assistance.

Eagerly waiting for your response!

I hope you have a good day ahead,

Hi Jeet, this is Lorenzo from Italy.

I encounter the same problem: i have purchased an ENVY 5032 and, after many attempts, i cannot connect my printer to web services.

I visited the page you mentioned in your previous post but a message tells me that the service is termporary unavailable.

And when i try to connect to web services from the printer i see the following message: "Server problem. Impossibile to connect the printer to web services. The server may be busy or temporarily unavailable. Try again later".

Can you help me?

Thanks

Lorenzo

@Lorenzo70,

Thank you for posting your query on HP Community,

How is the printer connected? Is it Wired or Wireless

Please ensure the printer is up-to-date with its firmware. If you are unsure, you may use the steps available here to update the printer.

Click on this link to download the printer firmware from our HP support website. (Please select the correct Operating system before downloading and installing the firmware update for the printer).

Once you are up-to-date with the firmware, please set a manual IP address and manual DNS servers for the printer. The steps on how to set a manual IP address can be found here.

For the DNS servers please use 8.8.8.8 for the Manual Preferred DNS Server and 8.8.4.4. for the Alternate DNS server. These are Google’s public DNS servers.

For more details, here's the steps:

If issue persists, try the steps available in this document.

Here's the document to turn on web services on the HP Printer - HP Printers - Turning On Web Services

You may go through this support document for - HP Printers - Cannot Connect to Web Services

Let me know how it goes for further assistance!

That said, If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the Accepted Solution and Kudos buttons, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Hi Jeet

sorry for my late reply but i'm often away for work.

I tried all your suggestions but, both for updating the firmware and connecting to web services, the message is always the same:

La stampante non ha potuto connettersi a Servizi Web.
Servizi Web potrebbe essere occupato o temporaneamente non disponibile. Riprovare successivamente

The printes can't connect to Web Services, Web services could be busy or temporarily not available. Try again later.

Can you help me?

Thanks

Lorenzo

EDIT 18/05/19:  SOLVED! I have disabled the proxy server on printer web page and all th service are currently working! My suggestion: please advice the users to check it....Thank you very much.

Ciao

Lorenzo
