Welcome to HP Support Forums. 🙂 I came across your post and would like to help.

I understand that you have an HP DeskJet 3700 All-in-One Printer. I read that you have downloaded and install the drivers for it and the computer does not detect the printer though it is connected by USB. You've done a remarkable job performing the steps.

I would like to know the following information to assist you better:

  • What operating system are you using (Windows or Mac OS)?
  • Do other USB devices work fine when connected to the computer's USB ports? If yes then it indicates that the USB ports are fine.

NOTE: If you're going to connect the printer via USB, then do not connect it initially. Begin the installation first and later there will be a prompt to connect the printer. That's when you may connect the printer.

If the issue persists then please download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor software. This is a free tool for Windows to help resolve issues with the printer drivers.

For Mac OS, you may try to reset the printing system in Mac OS.

I sincerely hope this fixes the issue. Keep me posted Good luck! 🙂
