I previously had 2600 and I've now got a 2810e but when I try to use the print and cut feature on Cricut Design Space, it won't print in colour at all. I've tried all the remedies I can find online - I've checked all the settings on the Cricut and also the printer, I've updated all apps, I've uninstalled the apps and reinstalled the apps, I've done calibration and print checks on the Cricut and also the printer... but I still can't get it to print in colour. The printer IS printing in colour if I'm just printing something via the app or using AirPrint from photos etc, but just not from Cricut Design Space print and cut.

Hi @Cherritea,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand the issue might be specific to the Cricut Design Space software settings or how it's interacting with your HP DeskJet 2810e. Since the printer works for color printing in other apps but not in Cricut Design Space, here's a list of steps you can follow to troubleshoot further:
Check Cricut Design Space Print Settings:
- In Cricut Design Space, before sending the print job, make sure that the color settings are properly configured. You should ensure that the "Print" setting is selected correctly and that the "Print Then Cut" function is enabled.
- Also, double-check if the "Color" option is selected in the design process when preparing the print job.
Check Printer Properties:
- On your PC or Mac, open the Printers & Scanners settings and select your HP DeskJet 2810e printer.
- Click on Manage and then Printer Properties or Printing Preferences.
- Ensure that color printing is enabled and that no settings (like grayscale or black and white) are forcing the printer to print in monochrome.
Set Default Printer:
- Sometimes, Cricut Design Space might select the wrong printer if there are multiple printers set up. Make sure your HP DeskJet 2810e is set as the default printer in your computer's settings.
Update Printer Drivers:
- Even though you've updated apps, make sure that your printer drivers are up-to-date. Visit the HP support site and download the latest driver for your HP DeskJet 2810e printer.
- After updating, restart your computer and printer.
Try a Different Connection:
- If you are using AirPrint, try connecting your printer via USB or through your local WiFi connection instead, and see if this resolves the issue.
Reinstall Cricut Design Space:
- Uninstalling and reinstalling the Cricut Design Space app can sometimes fix printing issues. Ensure you have the latest version after reinstalling.
Test with Another File:
- Test with a different design or file in Cricut Design Space. It’s possible the file you’re working with has certain properties or settings that are affecting the print in color.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
