I have a new hp all in one computer and a year old Hp 2504 printer that worked with previous computer via Wi-Fi.  The new operating system is Windows 11 but I can’t get anything to print.  Same thing from my new iPad - can’t get anything to print.

Hi @DonnaF1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're having trouble getting your HP printer to work with your new HP all-in-one computer and your iPad, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try.

For Windows 11 Computer:

Check Printer Connections:

  • Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your computer. If it's a wireless connection, check if it's connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Make sure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your Windows 11 computer. You can usually find these on the HP website.

Set as Default Printer:

  • Confirm that your HP printer is set as the default printer on your computer. To do this, go to "Settings" > "Devices" > "Printers & scanners."

Restart Printer and Computer:

  • Sometimes, a simple restart of both the printer and the computer can resolve connectivity issues.

For iPad:

Ensure Wi-Fi Connection:

  • Make sure that both your iPad and the printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

Update iPad Software:

  • Check if your iPad has the latest software update installed. Go to "Settings" > "General" > "Software Update."

Printer Compatibility:

  • Ensure that your HP printer is AirPrint compatible. If it is, you should be able to print wirelessly from your iPad without additional drivers.

Restart iPad:

  • Try restarting your iPad to refresh its connection settings.

General Tips:

Check Printer Status:

  • Make sure there are no error messages or issues displayed on the printer itself.

Firewall/Antivirus Settings:

  • Check if your firewall or antivirus software is blocking the communication between the devices. Temporarily disabling them for testing purposes can help identify the issue.

Reinstall Printer Drivers:

  • Uninstall the existing printer drivers on your Windows 11 computer and reinstall them from the official HP website.

HP Print and Scan Doctor:

  • HP provides a diagnostic tool called "HP Print and Scan Doctor" that can help identify and fix common printing issues. You can download it from the HP website.

By going through these steps, you should be able to identify and resolve the issue with printing from both your Windows 11 computer and iPad.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
