HP DeskJet 2636 All-in-One Printer

I am unable to print in color when using my cellphone. If I use my computer, I can print in color. I've checked that grayscale is not selected. Can anyone assist?

Hi @Heyppl,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're unable to print in color from your mobile device but can print in color from your computer, here are a few steps you can try.

  • Check Mobile App Settings: Ensure that the print settings in the mobile app you're using to print are set to color. Sometimes, the default setting might be set to grayscale or black and white.
  • Update Printer Firmware: Make sure your HP DeskJet 2636 has the latest firmware installed. You can usually update the firmware through the HP Smart app or by visiting the HP support website.
  • Update Mobile App: Ensure that the HP Smart app (or any other printing app you're using) on your mobile device is up-to-date.
  • Check Print Quality Settings: In the HP Smart app, go to the printer settings and check the print quality settings. Ensure that color printing is enabled and not set to draft or grayscale mode.
  • Restart Devices: Try restarting your mobile device and your printer to see if that resolves the issue.
  • Reinstall Printer on Mobile Device: Remove the printer from your mobile device's list of printers and then add it back again. This can sometimes resolve configuration issues.
  • Check Printer Cartridge Levels: Although you can print in color from your computer, it's worth double-checking the color cartridge levels to ensure they are sufficiently full.
  • Network Connection: Ensure that your mobile device and printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Sometimes, connectivity issues can cause printing problems.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
