I am trying to scan documents and save to my computer. The printer can not located a computer. The printer is connected to a network/internet, it can print fine.
I've tried to set up the printer by downloading the printer application onto my macbook. It is requesting a claims code but I can not get a claims code because I can't connect to the eprint/web services. I've tried to connect to the eprint/web services, but it does not allow me even after retrying multiple times and via the web server. Tried to do a web scan via the web server and says it is not enabled.
I feel like I am in a loop, every step that is suppose to resolve the first problem has its own problem that I can't resolve. I've also read that some printers are no longer being updating and therefore it doesn't connect to the web services. Please tell me if my printer can be fixed and set up to web services. It would be great to be able to scan documents, thank you.

Welcome to the HP Forums!
I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.
I understand that you are unable to scan documents to your computer and enable Web services.
I'm certain that with these steps I'm about to initiate, we're going to have a proper and permanent resolution in place in no time at all. Trust me, you're in very good & able hands.
To fix the scan to computer issue, try the step below:
A Scan Unsuccessful error displays on the printer. The Enable Scan to Computer function in HP Utility displays one of the following errors.
Scan to Computer Cannot Be Enabled
The HP software required for Scan to Computer could not be located on this computer. Please download and install the latest HP recommended software for your device from https://hp.care/2If06iD, and then try again.
These errors occur when Apple's AirScan driver is active instead of the HP scan driver when the Scan button is pressed on the printer. To resolve this problem, enable Scan to computer from the HP Utility.
-
Turn the printer off, and then on.
-
On the Mac, open Finder
, click Go in the top menu bar, and then click Applications.
-
Double-click the HP folder, and then double-click HP Utility.
-
Click All Settings, click Scan to Computer, and then select the box next to Enable Scan to Computer.
-
On the printer control panel, navigate to the scan menu or icon, and then select your computer name.
-
Start a scan job.

To fix the Web services issue, try the steps below:
Open the embedded web server (EWS)
(NOTE: To open the embedded web server through a network:
From the printer control panel, open the wireless settings and print the network configuration page.
Find out the IP address of the printer from the network configuration page.
In a supported web browser on your computer, type the IP address.
For example, if the IP address is 192.168.0.12, type the following address into a Web browser: http://192.168.0.12.)
- Choose the Networking tab, then Wireless along the left side, then the IPv4 tab.
- On this screen you want to set a Manual IP.
- Click on Manual IP
- Click on suggest a manual IP address and click apply.
- Enter 8.8.8.8 for the first DNS and 8.8.4.4 for the second DNS.
- Click 'Apply'.
Now, shut down the router and printer, start the router, wait, then start the printer.
Try to turn on the web services on your printer front panel.
