Hi @Sandy831

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for asking—yes, you can absolutely set up your HP Laser MFP 137fnw using just your iPad, without needing a Mac.

Here’s how to get it up and running:

Set Up HP Laser MFP 137fnw Using iPad Only

1. Download the HP Smart App

  • Open the App Store on your iPad
  • Search for HP Smart
  • Install and launch the app

This app handles setup, printing, scanning, and wireless configuration.

2. Power On and Connect the Printer

  • Turn on your HP Laser MFP 137fnw
  • Make sure it’s in Wi-Fi setup mode (the wireless light should blink)
    • If not blinking, press and hold the Wireless button until it starts flashing

This prepares the printer to connect to your network.

3. Add Printer in HP Smart

  • Open HP Smart on your iPad
  • Tap + Add Printer
  • Select your printer from the list
  • Follow on-screen steps to connect it to your Wi-Fi network

You’ll need your Wi-Fi password during setup.

4. Complete Setup and Test

  • Once connected, the app will confirm setup
  • You can now:
    • Print documents and photos
    • Scan using the printer’s flatbed
    • Check ink/toner levels and manage settings

Let me know if the printer doesn’t appear in the app or if the wireless light isn’t blinking—I’ll guide you through recovery steps.

You’re doing everything right by setting it up early—I’ll stay with you until it’s resolved.
