HP OfficeJet Pro 9125e All-in-One Printer

I have an HP 9125e All in One printer. I have set it up with HP+. I am trying to print from my iphone iOS 18. The 9125e shows up in the apple print printer selection, but when i select it, there is a rotating circle for a few seconds, it shows the selected printer, but then it clears the selected printer option before I am able to print. I think it has something to do with HP+, but i don't know for sure. Any idea welcomed.

Hi @TPFROMAZ57,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.

I see that you are facing an issue with your Printer that is not printing.

Do you have the same issue when you make a copy on the printer standalone? (Place an original document on the scanner glass and make a copy to confirm hardware is working fine)

Please follow the steps below to fix the issue.

A) Perform a power drain.

1) Take out the cartridges

2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.

3) Press and hold the power button down for 15 seconds and release the power button, wait for about 30 seconds.

4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not into a surge protector.

5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

Remove the cartridges > Unplug the power cord > Wait for 30 seconds > Plug the power cord back in > Insert the cartridges

B) Kindly refer to the steps on this link to update the printer firmware and let me know if that resolves the issue.

C) If the issue still persists, uninstall the printer software by following the steps from this link and restart the devices.

D)  Install the printer software by clicking on the link again and let me know if that resolves the issue.

Note: Enable Bluetooth for an HP Smart app setup: Enable Bluetooth on your computer or mobile device so that HP Smart can detect the printer during the setup.

Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day

Hello Irwin6,

Thank you for outlining the many steps that you provided. After much testing, I was able to resolve the issue with Air Print by disabling VPN on my iPhone. The VPN, for some reason did not allow me to connnect to my HP printer to AirPrint. My iPad connected fine, but the iPhone had the problem.

All is good!

similar issue. just set up 9125e. works fine with 2 Windows devices, but not printing off iPad or iPhone; jobs failed and reporting a Document Format Error; tried 2 different types of files; when looking at printers on iOS device, amber indicator is next to printer name; VPN is NOT enabled

After several hours, I was finally able to figure out and correct the “IOS not printing problem”. Make sure your 9125e printer has “Air Print” and WiFi or Ethernet” turned on.  This should allow you to print normally…but only if you don’t print in draft mode. I can print draft mode documents (300dpi) from my windows devices, but not from IOS.  I don’t know how to fix this problem.  I have owned HP printers for over 30 years and have never had problems before.  I see the same complaints from other HP users about other new HP printer models and wonder if HP purposely did this to sell more ink as you would definitely use more printing  in 600dpi versus 300dpi….all the new HP models use HP ink only…no generics.  Hope this helps.

Hi St Patty, thank you for taking time to reply to me regarding the iOS to HP printing issue. I rectified the problem a while back. I use Norton VPN on my iPhone and figured out that the VPN was blocking me from printing to my HP9125e printer. Once I disabled VPN, i was able to print without any further issues. I hope this feedback is useful to you.

I still cannot print in Draft mode on iPad/iPhone.  How did you fix this.
