Chrome OS

Have chrome desk top, about 6 months old. Communicated fine with my wifi setup. Existing prnter and new system not compatible. Bought cloud ready hp DeskJet 2652 printer. Followed available instructions for installing new printer. Printer and wifi communicate. Can run test page. Bought new toner cartridges.  Printer will not print document other than test page.

I understand you have issues printing from your printer.

 

Don't worry I'll try to help you out.

 

Did you make any changes to your printer?

 

Does the issue persist when you make a copy from your printer?

 

Have you tried checking with a different ink cartridge?

 

Have you tried printing from a different application?

 

As you mentioned your printer only print a test page and does not print anything else.

 

Try reinstalling the PDF application and try printing again and check if the issue persists.

 

If the copy is working fine and if you running windows on your PC try the steps recommended below try the steps recommended below.

 

If the issue still persists try uninstalling the printer software from root level and install full feature printer software and check if it helps.

 

Step 1: Make sure the printer is registered with Google Cloud Print

 

To print from the cloud, your printer must be registered with Google Cloud Print.

  1. On the Chromebook, open the Chrome browser .

  2. Go to Google Cloud Print Printers (in English).

    A list of your Google Cloud Print printers displays.

    • If your printer displays, try to print.

    • If your HP ePrint printer does not display, note your printer's email address, go to Connect Your HP Printer with Google Cloud Print (in English), and then follow the on-screen instructions. Once you complete the registration, try to print.

    • If your non-HP ePrint printer does not display, and then download the Google Cloud Print Service and follow the on-screen instructions. Once you complete the registration, try to print.

If the issue persists, continue to the next step.

Step 2: Select your Google Cloud Print registered printer

To print from Google Cloud Print, make sure to select the printer you registered with Google Cloud Print.

  1. On the Chromebook, open the document or image you want to print.

  2. Click the Print icon .

    The Google Cloud Print window opens.

  3. Under Destination, click the Change button.

    The Select a destination window opens.

  4. Under Google Cloud Print, select your printer.

Try to print.

Finally did get the printer to print a file.

I just went down the list of suggestions provided until something printed. Sorry I do not know which one finally worked. This was a very obtuse resolution and not as easy or professional as one would have considered optimal. Thank goodness though, there are other people out there in the same situation as myself. This is not condusive to repeat buying opportunities.
