I have used my printer for A4 printing without any difficulty for a number of years.  A few days ago I decided to print out photos from my iPad using the wireless connection.  I followed the steps detailed for such printing, but although the printer received the photo and seemed to be printing, the photo paper only moved up partially and no printing occurred.  I cleaned the rollers and I am using 260 g/m photo gloss paper.  I keep getting the paper jam message. I also checked to see if there were any software updates and received a message back saying that I had the latest updates.

Welcome to HP forms, I see that you are getting paper jam error while printing 4 x 6 photos.

Make sure the printer is placed on a flat surface.

  1. Gently turn the printer onto its right side.

Image: Pull out the input tray

  2. Check the surface directly under and around where the printer sits for the following:

    • Pieces of paper trapped in the input tray

    • Small, hard objects, such as cables, pens, pencils, and books

    • Soft or uneven surfaces, such as placemats or carpet-like material

  3. Remove any obstructions that might remain.

  4. Turn the printer to its normal position.

  5. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer, and then turn on the printer.

  6. Touch OK to clear any messages on the printer control panel.

Thank you for your reply.  I have had no problem removing the photo paper once I get a paper jam message on my printer.  My main concern is that the printer does not grab the photo paper completely and although the printer seems to be printing, the paper is stuck half way through and then I get the the paper jam message. I have checked for updates on the printer and it says it is updated.  I have cleaned the rollers as well.  Still no photo printing. I am using the HP smart app on my iPad.
