Welcome to the HP User Community.
Generally the easier option:
If you had the size selected before, use the same method to select the size this time.
For those reading - the procedure used to adjust the paper size / paper type depends on the situation...
Depending on the printer model (not provided) and the Operating System (not provided),
- Use the printer software (Windows / MacOS / Linux) to adjust the Printing Preferences
OR
- Use the Printer display screen to check / adjust the paper size and paper type
OR
- Use the Embedded Web Server (EWS) to adjust the paper size and paper type (Tray and Paper Management)
Printer Display Screen
Printers that include a convenient control panel to allow you to check / adjust the Paper Size / Type right on the printer screen. Open the tray, wait a couple of seconds > close the tray > look for and respond to the message on the printer screen to accept / edit (modify) / enter the paper size / type.
No printer display panel on your printer?
HP Smart and your browser can communicate with your networked printer using the Embedded Web Server (EWS).
Note: A few browsers get excited about opening EWS because the browser security does not recognize (or like) a local URL / IP address as the web address. If you see an error, either bypass the security "warning" or, for a stubborn browser that refuses to let you access EWS at all, use a different browser.
Reminder:
HP Smart Mobile requires that the Paper Size / Paper Type be selected / adjusted before the content is opened for printing.
Examples - Embedded Web Server (EWS)
