Hi @TamJoA4,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Envy 6400 printer is not showing up on Bluetooth, it’s likely due to the printer not using Bluetooth for its connection. HP Envy printers, including the 6400 model, typically connect to devices through Wi-Fi, not Bluetooth. Here’s how to connect your phone to your HP Envy 6400 printer:
1. Ensure Printer is Connected to Wi-Fi:
- Check Printer's Wi-Fi Connection:
- Printer Status: Make sure your printer is connected to your Wi-Fi network. On the printer's control panel, navigate to “Setup” (gear icon) > “Network” > “Wireless Network Test Report” or “Wireless Setup Wizard”.
- Connect to Wi-Fi: If your printer is not connected to Wi-Fi, use the “Wireless Setup Wizard” to connect to your network. Follow the on-screen instructions to select your network and enter the password.
2. Connect Your Phone to the Same Wi-Fi Network:
- Settings: On your smartphone, go to “Settings” > “Wi-Fi”.
- Network Selection: Ensure your phone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network that your printer is connected to.
3. Install HP Smart App:
- App Store: Download the HP Smart app from the App Store (for iOS) or Google Play Store (for Android).
- Open HP Smart: Launch the HP Smart app on your phone.
- Add Printer: Tap on the “+” icon or “Add Printer” option in the app.
- Find Your Printer: The app will search for available printers on the same network. Select your HP Envy 6400 from the list.
- Complete Setup: Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup and connect your phone to the printer.
4. Print from Your Phone:
- Choose Printer: Within the HP Smart app or any app you’re printing from (like Photos or Documents), select your HP Envy 6400 printer as the destination printer.
- Send Print Job: Choose the document or photo you want to print and send the print job.
5. Troubleshooting Tips:
- Network Issues: Ensure there are no issues with your Wi-Fi network. Both the printer and phone should be on the same network.
- Restart Devices: Restart your printer, phone, and router to resolve any temporary connectivity issues.
- Printer Firmware: Check for any firmware updates for your printer on the HP website.
- App Updates: Ensure that the HP Smart app is updated to the latest version.
- Network Visibility: Ensure that your printer is visible on the network and not in a “sleep” mode that might prevent it from appearing in the list of available devices.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
