I have a LaserJet 1102w. I have a HP laptop. Recently my laptop got a virus. I had it reset all the way back to ‘day one.’ Then my computer guy reloaded all my info. He also upgraded my operating system from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10, 64-Bit. When I went to set up my printer, it would not set up. My printer will not talk to my laptop. I have never had this problem before. When I go to ‘device and printers’, it shows 2 devices and 5 printers, one being my LaserJet. It’s sitting there, but I cannot get it set up.
When I go to “Add a Device”, it searches and only pulls up 4 of 5 printers that I have. My printer does not show in the search. When I go to “Install the Printer Driver”, my printer model does not show up anywhere. But in “Devices and Printers”, there it sits! How do I get the two to talk together? I do not have a disk to work with.
Thanks! Kirk J

Greetings!
Welcome back to the HP Support Community. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries. I have reviewed your post and I understand, you are trying to configure your printer on the Win 10 computer.
Appreciate you trying the steps. Don't worry, I'm here to help!
Let's try these steps -
1) In the search box, type and open "Uninstall a Program".
2) Look for HP Printer software.
3) Right-click to uninstall.
4) In the search box, type and open “Devices and printers”.
5) In the Devices and Printers, look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose “Delete” or “Remove Device”.
6) Open the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
7) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”).
8) Click on the "Drivers" tab.
9) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click “Remove” at the bottom.
10) Select Ok.
11) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows.
12) Close Devices and Printers Once the software and drivers are removed.
13) Restart the computer.
14) Download and install the software and drivers from here and follow the on-screen instructions.

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get past step #2: "Look for HP Printer software." There is nothing in the Uninstall link that says anything about Printers. I've had this printer connected to this laptop for years. Now that I had this laptop taken all the way back to the day it was born (because of a virus), then updated it from 8.1 to 10, I can't get the two to talk together. It shows in my Devices and Printers display, but I simply cannot connect them. I have tried everything I can think of. I have gone online. I have gone to HP support. Nothing works.

Thanks for getting back to us. Appreciate you trying the steps suggested in the previous steps.
As there are no printer drivers installed, please go ahead and install the printer drivers and follow the on-screen instructions. Refer to the steps# 14 of my previous post.
Keep me posted.
Have a great day!
