I am trying to print double sided with my HP OfficeJet Pro 9132e All-In-One printer from an iMac using the HP Smart App but do not see an option for double side printing. Why this isn’t supported when printing from macOS 14.6.1?

But on the other hand, I can print double-sided from Windows 10 or iOS 17.6. All the options I know from my old HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 are also available here.

Any help from this community would be most welcome.

Hi @DiLoe,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like the issue you're encountering with double-sided printing on your HP OfficeJet Pro 9132e from macOS could be due to several factors. Here are a few things you can check and try.

Printer Drivers: Ensure you have the latest drivers installed for your HP OfficeJet Pro 9132e. Sometimes, outdated or missing drivers can cause features to be unavailable. You can download the latest drivers from the HP website.

HP Smart App Updates: Make sure you have the latest version of the HP Smart App installed on your iMac. App updates can fix bugs and improve functionality.

Printer Settings: Sometimes, double-sided printing options might be available through the printer settings in macOS, even if they’re not visible in the HP Smart App. Try the following steps:

  • Open the document you want to print.
  • Go to File > Print.
  • In the print dialog box, click on the Show Details button if you see it.
  • Look for a setting related to Two-Sided Printing or Duplex Printing and select it.

System Preferences: Check the printer settings in System Preferences:

  • Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  • Select your HP OfficeJet Pro 9132e printer.
  • Click on Options & Supplies and check if there are any settings related to double-sided printing.

Alternative Software: If the HP Smart App doesn’t support double-sided printing, you might want to try using another printing application or the built-in macOS printing options.

Firmware Updates: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. Updating the printer's firmware can sometimes resolve compatibility issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
