My HP Smart Tank 6001 printer prints everything when I print through my laptop. When using the HP Smart app on my android phone, "From," "Date," and "To" heading information will not print. IA there a solution to this problem?

Hi @Mikey4230-
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like the issue might be specific to the way the HP Smart app is rendering your emails when printing from your Android phone. While the HP Smart Tank 6001 can print from various devices, sometimes there are certain formatting or app-specific issues that prevent specific information (like "From," "Date," and "To") from showing up when printing from mobile devices.
Here are a few troubleshooting steps to try:
1. Check App Settings and Print Preview:
- Open the HP Smart app on your phone and attempt to print again.
- Before hitting Print, check the Print Preview (if available) to see if the "From," "Date," and "To" information is being recognized by the app.
- If it's missing in the preview, it may indicate an issue with the way the HP Smart app is parsing the email or document.
2. Try Using a Different Email App:
- Sometimes, printing directly from the default email app might not render everything as expected. Try forwarding the email to another email app (like Gmail, Outlook, or another email client) and printing from there.
- This can help you identify whether the issue lies with the email app itself or with the HP Smart app.
3. Print as PDF First:
- If the email content isn't coming out right, a workaround is to save the email as a PDF first, then print the PDF through the HP Smart app.
- To do this, you can use your email app's Print option, and then select Save as PDF instead of directly printing. Afterward, open the saved PDF and print it through the HP Smart app. This often resolves formatting issues.
4. Clear App Cache and Data:
- Sometimes, the app's data or cache can get corrupted and cause print issues. Try clearing the HP Smart app’s cache or even reinstalling the app to see if that resolves the problem.
- Go to Settings on your Android phone.
- Tap Apps or App Management.
- Find HP Smart and tap on it.
- Select Storage & Cache and tap Clear Cache or Clear Data.
- After that, try printing again.
5. Ensure App and Printer Firmware Are Updated:
- Make sure that both the HP Smart app on your phone and the printer firmware are up to date:
- For the HP Smart app, go to the Google Play Store, search for the app, and ensure it is updated.
- For the HP Smart Tank 6001 printer, you can check for firmware updates through the HP Smart app or visit the HP Support website to ensure it’s running the latest version.
6. Alternative Printing Methods (Email to Print):
- If you're still having trouble with the HP Smart app, you can also try printing your email using HP’s ePrint service.
- You can forward your email to your printer’s unique ePrint email address, and it will print directly from the cloud, possibly avoiding the issue with app formatting.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
