What model printer are you using?

Which version of macOS are you using?

Have you tried printing different types of documents like PDF, Word or Webpages and check if the error persists?

 

For now, let us try these steps: 

 

Update the printer firmware

Also, check for any software updates on MAC

Without more details it is hard to confirm but there is a reasonable possibility that that the issue you are seeing is due to expired certificate.

 

The printer has generated an expired server certificate. To resolve this issue please follow the directions outlined in the document "'Encryption Credentials Expired' Error Displays".
