Envy 4520
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have tried to install my HP Envy to print wirelessly from my Windows laptop. I have already been able to print with it from the USB connected to the laptop, and wireless printing from my Android phone using HP Smart works just fine.

-The printer is connected to the same WiFi network as the laptop

-I have successfully installed HP Connected with it's drivers on the laptop

-I have set the printer as my default printer

But, when I push print from any printable program, nothing comes out of the printer. If I click on the printer icon in the lower right hand corner of the window, it shows that a document is in the queue for the printer, and then it disappears, but nothing comes out of the printer!

@JosephVH,

Thank you for joining HP Forums.

It's a pleasure assisting you in finding answers to your technical queries.

Assign Manual IP to the printer:

1) Print a Network configuration page from the printer's control panel.

2) Look for IP address from the Network configuration page.

3) Open web browser - Chrome or IE or any other browser that you are using.

4) Type the IP address mentioned on Network configuration page into the browser's address bar or URL bar and press enter button.

5) Go to the Network tab.

6) Click on Networking from the left pane.

7) Then click on Network Address (IP).

😎 Click on Manual IP Address and go to suggest a Manual IP.

9) Scroll down the screen and select Manual DNS server.

10) Enter the Primary and secondary DNS server from the Network Configuration page into the Manual Preferred DNS server field.

11) Click on Apply.

Refer to the video link for step by step instructions - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCnYyq80V9g

Note: The video is for win 8 but steps are similar for other operating systems as well. You need to enter the IP address in the browser's URL or the address bar to access the printer page.

Raj -- thanks so much for all these steps. I figured out the problem on my own first. There were two problems:

1) A housemate of mine had the same printer (which I did not know) on the network, and I was actually sending the print job to his printer.

2) My printer did not show up on the laptop because there are actually two wifi networks in the house, and the laptop and the printer were logged into the different networks, so they could not see each other.

I bet your steps would have helped me find the problem anyways, though, so I'm marking your solution as "accepted".
