I've tried printing from both windows andprin mac.  Printer prints alignment page but when I try to print a page, printer sounds like it is printing yet the page comes up white.  Same when I hit 'COPY"

I understand your HP Envy 5530 prints an alignment page but won't print your documents or copies—only blank pages come out. Let's walk through some steps to resolve this:

Check Ink Levels

  • From the printer control panel, look for an Ink icon or navigate to Settings > Ink Levels.
  • Alternatively, open the HP Smart App on your PC or Mac to view estimated ink levels.

If ink levels are low or empty, replace the cartridges.

Reinstall Ink Cartridges

  • Open the cartridge access door and wait for the carriage to stop.
  • Remove both cartridges and inspect them:
    • Ensure the protective plastic tape is removed.
    • Do not touch the copper contacts or ink nozzles.
  • Reinsert the cartridges firmly until they click into place.

Run Printhead Cleaning

  • On the printer control panel, go to:
    • Settings > Tools > Clean Printhead
  • Alternatively, use the HP Smart App:
    • Go to Printer Settings > Print Quality Tools > Clean Printhead

This helps clear any dried ink or clogs that may be causing blank pages.

Try a Copy Test

  • Place a document on the scanner glass and press Copy.
  • If the copy is also blank, it confirms a hardware or ink delivery issue.

Reset the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the wall.
  • Wait 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and power it on.

This can help clear any internal errors.

Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers

  • Visit the HP Support Page and download the latest drivers for your OS.
  • Reinstall the printer on both Windows and Mac.
