On my iPad or iPhone, if I choose to airprint something, open the printer options dialogue for airplay, the preview is in color and no printer is selected. When I select the Envy Photo 7855, the preview turns to black and while and there is no color option under printer options. When I chose the information button next to th eprinter, there is a black black box and a box with 3 colors in it.
The printer prints in color from my computer and from the HP Smart app. Any thoughts?

Welcome to HP Support Forums. A really great platform for posting all your questions and finding solutions.
I understand that you are unable to print in color from your iPad and iPhone
I'll try my best to help.
I suggest you install the HP Smart App and try printing.

Hello,
I understand you are having difficulty printing in color on your iPad and iPhone. There is a setting in the print dialog for Options. Tap on options and you will see a button for Black and White. When Black & White is active the button is green. Tap on it to turn off Black & White and then you will be able to print in color.
You can follow this document for further assistance with printing from an iOS device.

I'm having the same problem with a ENVY 5055. I have all of the options except Black/White. I don't even have a toggle swith to turn this on. all my contnet is in black and white with no option for color. I have an ENVY 110 on the same network that I am replacing due to scanner failure. It has the Black/White toggle swith as an option.

I bought an ENVY 5055 today (7/23/2018) and I've called support 4 times tonight with no resolution. When I attempt to print from my iPhone with Airprint, there is no option for Black/White. There is no option toggle at all, only the printer name, Copy and paper options. My wife has an ENVY on the same network and it has the printer, copies, Options when selected expands to the Black/White and Paper options. I replaced a ENVY 110 with this printer and it had all the options as well. The solution they finally gave me was to print from the HP Smart app for color and Airpring for black and white....Not a good option I feel. The copy function copies in color and I can print in color from my computer. Please help...

Fixed! I was having the same problem with my brand new ENVY Photo 7858. I just bought the printer and set it up today. It printed in BW and Color from my Windows 10 PC and via HP Smart app. However, the AirPrint printer options on my iPhone 8 did not have the Black and White/Color toggle. It would only print in BW. THEN, using the HP Smart app I updated the printers firmware. After the successful update, I now have the Black and White/Color toggle within my AirPrint Options.
Why the brand new printer would not print in color via AirPrint 'out of the box' is beyond me. I would assume the firmware would've handled it. But it appears a firmware update was necessary to get color working.
Hope this helps others.
