Suddenly Can't print from android now, keep getting exclamation  point icon, when I click on it it says printer error and when I open it it says print spooler

Same Problem here with an Officejet pro 8600.

Over years printing from android devices never was a problem.

Now I get an error icon and the printer produces a blank sheet.

Tested with 3 different devices using HP Smart.

Printing from Windows is ok as usual.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

To fix a print spooler error with your HP Envy Pro 6458, please try the steps below and let me know if this helps.

Try the basic steps. If you still face an issue, let me know so we can try advanced troubleshooting steps.

Please remove the Cartridges from the Printer if possible, and try a Hard Reset. Do keep us posted to help you better

** Hard reset :
1. Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
4. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
5. Wait at least 60 seconds.
6. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
7. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
8. Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on. The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
9. Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
 

Please uninstall the HP Smart app --> restart the Device, Wi-Fi router and printer --> install it back and add the printer
 

Please update the Firmware from the link, This will help with how to update the firmware on the printer or devices

I understand how frustrating it can be when printing suddenly stops working, especially after years of smooth operation. Let's try to get this sorted out.

 

Restart Devices: Power off your printer, your Android device, and your Wi-Fi router. Wait about 30 seconds, then turn them back on.

 

Check HP Smart & Print Services:

Ensure the HP Smart app is updated.

Go to Settings > Apps > Show system apps > Print Spooler and clear its cache and data. Then restart your phone.

Make sure the HP Print Service Plugin is installed and enabled in your phone's printing settings.

 

Re-add the Printer: Remove the printer from HP Smart, then re-add it by searching for available devices.

 

Network Check: Ensure your printer and phone are on the same Wi-Fi network. If using a VPN on your phone, try disabling it.

 

A Few Questions to Narrow It Down:

Does the issue occur with all documents or just specific apps (e.g., PDFs, web pages, etc.)?

Have you noticed any changes (app updates, Android updates) around the time this issue started?

When the printer produces a blank page, does it still recognize the print job in the queue, or does it disappear?
