We have been working on a HP officejet for about 2 months with an ethernet cable connected to our work network. It has worked fine until we tried to use the wireless feature to print from our phone. Now it says the ethernet is not connected... Any help?

Thank you for reaching out to the HP Support community!
- Have you connected the printer to a home/office WiFi Router? Or are you connecting the phone directly to the printer's WiFi network(WiFi Direct)?
- What is the Wireless light status on the printer? Is that solid or flashing?
- Which phone do you have? Is it an iPhone or an Android?
If you have connected the printer to both WiFi and Ethernet, only one type of connectivity would work at a given point of time. Either ethernet or WiFi but not both together.
Let's check if the Ethernet feature is functioning on the printer
- Connect an Ethernet cable to the printer. Check the Ethernet Port on the back of the printer and see if there are any LED lights near the port
- If you see the lights, touch the ethernet icon on the printer control panel.
- It should display the network details like IP address etc.
- If you do not see any lights, it means the Ethernet functionality is not working
- If the ethernet is not functioning, try performing a Power Reset
- Make sure this printer is plugged into a direct wall, not a surge protector.
- Turn the printer on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. Wait at least 60 seconds
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
- Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
- Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
- Check the LED lights at the back of the printer.
- If you see the lights, touch the ethernet icon on the printer control panel.
You can connect the printer to a WiFi router instead of using an Ethernet. Benefits are that you can print from different devices when connected on a WiFi network.

Let's Download and Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor Diagnostics.
HP Print and Scan Doctor is a diagnostic utility that is used to identify printing and scanning issues and fix them automatically.
- Download HP Print and Scan Doctor from this link
- Run HPPSdr.exe from the download location on your computer.
- Once HP Print and Scan Doctor is open, click Start, and then choose your printer.
- If your printer is not listed, turn it on and click Retry.
- If there is a connection problem, follow the instructions in the tool.
- Click Fix Printing and follow the on-screen instructions and complete the diagnostics
- Try to print again
If the issue persists, perform a PING test
- Obtain the IP address of the printer by touching the Ethernet/Wireless icon on the printer control panel.
- Open up the run utility with the "Windows key + R" key combo on your PC.
- Type cmd and hit ok
- A command prompt window(black screen) would open up
- Type "ping the IP address of your printer" for example: "ping 192.168.1.3" and hit the enter key.
- Run the ping test and share the results
