Printer: HP Color Laser MFP 179fnw
When printing documents from my Android phone (emails, with text), the printed output is not sharp, the text looks very fuzzy. There are some colored 'dots'/'halo' just left of the black letters (like with a tiny offset). This makes the text far from sharp. The strange thing is that when I print the very same documents using a computer (Windows 11), the text is incredibly sharp (as it should be with a laser printer). See also the two screenshots below. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening when printing from Android? And how to solve this issue? I installed the HP Print Service Plugin and the HP Smart apps on my Android phone.
Examples:
When printing from Android phone: text looks fuzzy and has a colored offset. Also, for example on the top left, the dashes are not very well separated (compared to the second picture below):
Printed from Android, fuzzy text with colored dots next to black text.
When printing the very same document from a computer (Windows 11): text is razor sharp as it should be. Also, the dashes on the top left are clearly separated:
Printed same document from computer (Windows 11). Text is very crisp and sharp as it should be.
Thank you in advance for any suggestions on how to solve the printing issue when using Android. I tried to remove the HP Smart and HP Printer Service Plugin apps from my phone and install them again. But unfortunately, this didn't change anything, the text is still fuzzy like in the photos above. Does anyone have any suggestions why the prints from Android are fuzzy?
