I have some sheet music scanned with an iPhone that are in PDF form. When I print from iPad to HP 6055e, the scans print too light. I thought it would be easy to tell the printer to print darker, but I haven’t found it. On iPad, I have found the printer options>Paper type/Quality>best solution suggested many places on this forum, but the best quality settings don’t do enough to darken the print. Is there a trick or do I need to figure out a way to edit the PDFs first?

Hi@Ph6428,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Request you to follow the below troubleshooting steps from the document fix.
Check the print settings on your Mac.
-
Open a document, click File, and then click Print.
The Print window opens.
-
Select the Paper Type/Quality or Media & Quality menu.
-
Depending on your print job, you might consider modifying the following settings:
-
Paper type: If one of the options matches your paper type exactly, select that option.
-
Quality: If you are dissatisfied with the quality of your printouts, increase the print quality. To print more quickly, decrease the print quality.
To save your settings for future print jobs, select Save in the Presets menu and then name the new preset.
-
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

As I said in my original post, I have already tried the option to improve the print quality to “best”, and that didn’t do anything to darken the print..And I’m not using a Mac. This is an iPad.
I also tried briefly an app called PDF Expert that was capable of a few things but not darkening. I uninstalled the app. Maybe there is something better for altering PDFs. Maybe it will require a PC.

Hi@Ph6428,
Try using to print, try diff app, diff types of docs, align the printer - step 4 in this doc - https://support.hp.com/in-en/product/hp-deskjet-3700-all-in-one-printer-series/8954253/document/c050...
