I have reset printer, unplugged and plugged back in but my computer and phone will not find printer. If it does find printer it will show "now printing" on the printer screen but will not print. Every now and then it will print a partial page and then hang up. I even tried to update the firmware but it gave me the message "Device is in error state and cannot be reflashed because of this" Please help!!

Hi! @BMason8747, Welcome to HP forums.
I understand you have issues printing from your printer and you are getting an error unable to communicate with the selected device on your MAC.
Don't worry I'd like to help you out.
Did you make any changes to your printer?
Is your printer connected by a wired or wireless connection?
Are you able to print using a wired connection?
Are you able to make a copy from your printer?
Restore printer network settings to default and try connecting the printer to the network using wireless setup wizard.
1. Press the Wireless button to access the Wireless Status
menu.
2. Press the button next to Settings to access the Wireless
Settings menu.
3. Select Restore Defaults.
4. Confirm selection to restore defaults
Remove the printer queue from the list of printers, and then add it again. Doing so creates a new printing session.
-
Make sure your Mac is connected to the Internet.
-
In the Printers list, click your HP printer, and then click the Minus button
to delete it.
-
Click the Add button
.
-
Find and select the name of your printer from the Printer list, and then click Add to add your printer. Do not select an HP Fax driver.
NOTE:
If your printer does not display in the list, make sure the printer is connected, turned on, has power, and is ready to print.

Click Print Using or Use.
