Thanks for stopping by the HP community. A very good day to you I will be glad to assist you and let’s get right to it. Fabulous description and superb diagnosis of the issue. It is amply appreciated.
Let me gather some information for better clarity to assist you correctly:
- Did this occur after a recent power outage or surge?
Meanwhile, I will be providing a roadmap with some troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue. Let us try these steps:
- Perform a hard reset on the printer as you don’t have access to the router by following directions from this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-officejet-6950-all-in-one-printer-series/9666193/model/15129... and section “Step 1: Reset the printer”
- Then update the printer’s firmware by following instructions from this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_1776648-1643972-16
- Use a USB cable to update the printer’s firmware.
Run all the latest Mac OS updates and ensure that the most current OS updates are installed on the MacBook.
Now check by pressing the eprint button from the printer's control panel and check if it works. If the issue continues then from this user guide link: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03251656 refer to pages 69 to 72 for setting up eprint using other methods.
- Set up HP ePrint.......................................................................................................................69
- Set up HP ePrint using the HP printer software ................................................................69
- Set up HP ePrint using the printer’s control panel..............................................................70
- Set up HP ePrint using the embedded web server.............................................................70
- Use HP ePrint...........................................................................................................................71
- Print using HP ePrint..........................................................................................................71
- Find the printer’s email address.........................................................................................71
- Turn off HP ePrint...............................................................................................................72
- Remove Web Services..............
This should do the trick for you.
Good luck and keep me posted about the developments. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue and give the post a Kudos for my efforts to help. Thank you and have a great week ahead. 🙂
