After starting Instant Ink service in Nov 2018, my HP 8620 cannot connect to the internet. Wireless prints fine, usb prints, connects to home network.  But cannot connect to HP Connect.

Welcome to the HP Support Community. 

 

Try these steps -

 

Step 1 Network Restore -
1) From the printer control panel, touch and slide your finger across the screen, touch Setup, and then touch Network Setup.
2) Touch Restore Network Defaults, and then touch Yes.
A message appears stating that the network defaults have been restored.
3) Touch OK.

 

Step 2 Reboot the devices -
1) Turn off the Router, Printer, and the computer. 
2) Wait for 60 seconds. 
3) Turn on the Router first and wait for all the lights to stabilize. 
4) Turn on the printer and allow it to configure itself. 
5) Turn on the computer.

 

Step 3 Run Wireless Wizard - 
1) From the printer control panel display, touch and slide your finger across the screen and then touch Setup.
2) Touch Network Setup.
3) Touch Wireless Settings.
4) Touch Wireless Setup Wizard.
5) Follow the display instructions to complete the setup.

 

Also, try updating the printer's firmware using these steps - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

Many thanks for your help.  It still cannot connect to HP connected.  I have gone down a rabbit hole downloading some HP diagnostic tool which finds my Vaio and cannot find any network print drivers for my 8620.  Find interesting there is not a troubleshooting guide for connecting to HP connected.  My printer works fine, connects to my wireless network, etc.  But now it is being blocked from printing because of Instant Ink needing to connect and it cannot.  I am not sure it has ever connected after I setup Instant Ink mid November.  Have spent weeks trying to resolve this.  Notice that I am one of 409,000 having the issue connecting to the internet.
