HP Deskjet 2455
iOS

I have recently purchased a HP Deskjet 2544 - I was attracted by the wording on the box which said that this printer was ideal for printing from a tablet or smartphone.

I have spent some time today trying to set this up - I am trying to connect to an iPad and an iPhone and have downloaded the AIO app from the AppStore.

The printer is not accepting my home wireless password - could this possibly be because when I search for the HP printer address in my wifi settings it doesn't include "setup" in the address?

Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Hi,

The printer support printing from a tablet or a smartphone, however it must be configured for your wireless network using a computer or using WPS if your router support a such.

The HP AIO Remote app support your printer, wireless configuration by the app only being offered for later printers from this year.

If you do not hae a computer and your router does not support WPS, follow these steps to connect it to your network:

  1. On the printer Ensure that Wireless Direct () is powered on, its light should lit.
  2. press the Wireless Direct button () for 3 seconds, the printed sheet include the Wireless Direct password.
  3. From your iPad fo to Settings > WiFi and connect to HP-Print-xx-[your printer model name], use the password lsited on the printed sheet.
  4. Open Safari and browse to http://192.168.223.1
  5. Select Wireless.
  6. Select Wireless Setup Wizard and follow the steps on screen to select your router and enter its password.

Once you complete the Wireless connection the blue wireless light should appear as solid lit, then reconnect the iPad to your home network and print throug the network.

Shlomi

Hi. I have recently changed broadband providers and now I can’t get my printer to work.   It’s an older one HP Desktop 2544. The WiFi needs re connected I’m guessing but I don’t know how as everything I’ve tried hasn’t worked. Please advise 😃
